Turf Specialties, Inc uses only the best turf aeration equipment in the industry for its services. We developed and use the new Aeromax deep aerators and the new GA series Jacobsen aerator.
In 2012 Tommy St Romain, President and CEO of Turf Specialties, Inc, partnered with Randy New of Aeri Tech to form Aeromax LLC together they developed and patented the new Aeromax perfect strike aerator, and also patented a new tine configuration concept that performs both deep aeration and conventional aeration in a single pass. All of the intellectual property rights of Aeromax LLC were purchased by Jacobsen / Textron in 2015 and these aerators are now the new GA series of Jacobsen aerators. The patented tine configuration is now the Jacobsen Aer Strike assembly.

The Perfect Strike technology is important for the new ultra dwarf turfgrasses and was designed specifically for this purpose. The new Aer Strike technology is a first in the industry and can complete two different aeration procedures in one step.

Tommy St Romain is a graduate agronomist with over 30 years of turfgrass experience. As a golf course superintendent in 1989, Tommy witnessed the profound effects of deep tine aeration and thus Turf Specialties, Inc was formed. Even today after some 30 years since the technology was first introduced, turf managers are still learning how beneficial deep aeration is for promoting and maintaining their fine turf. The new ultra dwarf grasses have required some changes in maintenance and our new turf aerators were designed specifically with these in mind.
Tommy and his wife of 42 years have two children, Thomas Jr. and Katherine Alexander along with two grand children Eli and Owen Alexander.
Tommy enjoys spending quality time with his family, as well as time outdoors in a duck blind or fishing boat or just cooking for friends and family.
